Operations Supervisor

We are looking for an Operations Supervisor who will be supervising and coordinating all daily landfill operational activities to ensure safe, efficient, environmentally compliant, and cost-effective waste disposal operations. The position oversees manpower, heavy equipment operations, waste placement activities, site maintenance, environmental control systems, and adherence to government regulations and company standards.
What We're Looking For- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any related field.
- 3+ years related experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of sanitary landfill operations and waste handling procedures.
- Familiarity with environmental laws and waste management regulations.
- Understanding of heavy equipment operations and maintenance coordination.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
- Ability to read operational plans and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with DENR and local environmental compliance requirements is an advantage.
- BOSH Certification, preferred
- Supervise daily waste disposal operations including unloading, spreading, compaction, and soil cover application.
- Ensure proper waste placement in designated landfill cells according to approved landfill development plans.
- Monitor waste volumes, disposal locations, and operational capacities.
- Ensure proper traffic flow and vehicle movement within the landfill facility.
- Ensure equipment operators follow safe operating procedures.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair schedules with maintenance personnel.
- Monitor equipment utilization, fuel consumption, and operational efficiency.
- Supervise landfill operators, drivers, spotters and other assigned personnel.
- Prepare work schedules and manpower deployment plans.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and work performance.
- Report operational issues and recommend improvements.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
- Ensure employees wear complete and proper PPE.
- Identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions immediately.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
