Forklift Operator

Job Description:

1. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and arrange goods in the warehouse safely and efficiently
2. Load and unload shipments from trucks and storage areas, following proper safety protocols and company procedures
3. Inspect forklifts and equipment before and after each shift, reporting any maintenance issues or defects to supervisors
4. Maintain accurate records of goods moved, including quantities and locations within the warehouse
5. Follow all health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
6. Work with warehouse staff to ensure goods are stored in designated areas and organized for easy retrieval
7. Assist in inventory management and warehouse organization to maximize space utilization
8. Respond to safety concerns and participate in safety training and briefings
9. Adhere to quality standards and support the prevention of product damage during handling and storage

Job Qualifications:

1. Valid Forklift Operator Certification or equivalent qualification, with demonstrated competency in operating various types of forklifts
2. Proven experience working as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse, distribution center, or similar logistics environment
3. Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols, material handling best practices, and occupational health and safety regulations
4. Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
5. Physical capability to perform repetitive lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
6. Ability to follow instructions carefully and maintain attention to detail, particularly regarding load weights and storage locations
7. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
8. Reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality
9. Familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory tracking software is advantageous
10. Previous experience in the food or fresh produce industry would be beneficial
