What is the job?

The Senior Accountant is responsible in supporting the full lifecycle of program and grant accounting, assisting with budget setup, grant billings, monitoring expenditures, and preparing reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

• Supports full grant lifecycle, including setup, financial management, and closeout
• Monitors grant spending, identifying variances, risks, and compliance issues
• Prepares reimbursement requests, billing, and financial reports for funders
• Maintains grant records, documentation, and compliance files
• Assists in grant audits and preparation of supporting schedules
• Supports financial analysis, reporting, and special fiscal projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounting.
• Experience in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, and data analysis).
• Demonstrates strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel (including creating and maintaining spreadsheets for grant or project budgets, reconciliations, and financial reporting).
