Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Field Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining POS terminals and its peripherals and diagnosing, researching, and troubleshooting other technical issues related herewith. Moreover, s/he is expected to directly interact and communicate with the merchants and/or clients related to problems concerning POS terminals.

• Provides POS terminal hardware / software technical support for the clients. This shall include monitoring, recording, validating transactions with other internal teams such as dispatch and helpdesk;
• Conducts technical trainings (terminal orientation) to the end users regarding the hardware / software functionality, use, maintenance, and other technical and IT security know-hows;
• Ensures completeness and/or clear images of the POS Terminal and its peripherals details (e.g. CRC, host information, saleslip, wallet, software version, and serial numbers) to be saved and transact in PEARL and/or sent and manually logged and uploaded via Helpdesk;
• Prepares, validates, and submits departmental reports (e.g. Engineering Activity Report (EAR), stock-on-hand, transportation reimbursement, and the like) on a regular basis;
• Collaborates with other teams or groups for more effective POS servicing, maintenance and repair of POS terminals, and effective logging of activities relating to terminal profiling, installation, troubleshooting, pull-out, and repair;
• Works closely with the Dispatch Team to ensure immediate resolution of client-raised issues, meeting agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA), and other matters that requires coordination related to their service calls;
• Safekeeps, monitors movement, and accurately tracks inventory of Company issued equipment essential for POS servicing such as but not limited to POS terminals and its peripherals, phone tablets, and sim cards. The maintenance and tracking of the equipment shall be done using the Company’s WMIS;
• Ensures that the implemented POS servicing methodologies are aligned in the department’s operating procedures, manuals, and other documentation for compliance;
• Engages on activities that will enhance knowledge in the POS servicing and dispatching, customer services, discovering trends, and identifying opportunities for process improvement; and
• Performs duties and responsibilities analogous to the foregoing.
