Job Summary
This role is responsible for ensuring that all incoming raw materials, components, and services meet established quality, reliability, and compliance standards. The position plays a critical role in maintaining supplier performance through qualification, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives, while supporting cross-functional teams to ensure consistent product quality across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Qualification and Development- Evaluate and qualify new suppliers through audits, capability assessments, and technical reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement supplier approval criteria.
- Support supplier onboarding to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Develop and monitor supplier improvement plans and conduct follow-up audits.
- Track and analyze supplier performance metrics such as defect rates, delivery performance, and responsiveness.
- Identify performance gaps and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Partner with suppliers to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead investigations on supplier-related quality issues.
- Review and validate Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR).
- Coordinate disposition of nonconforming materials, including return or rework.
- Ensure effectiveness and sustainability of corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to supplier quality.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the supply base.
- Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, and Production teams to address supplier-related concerns.
- Provide technical support and recommendations to improve supplier performance and material quality.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field).
- At least 3 years of experience in supplier quality or related roles, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949).
- Experience in auditing, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Professional license and relevant QMS training are an advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
