About the role
VisayasMed Hospital is seeking an experienced Facilities & Engineering Services Manager to join our growing healthcare management team. This is a full-time position based in Cebu City, Cebu. In this strategic role, you will oversee all aspects of our hospital's facilities and engineering operations, ensuring that our physical infrastructure supports the delivery of excellent patient care and maintains the highest standards of safety and compliance.You will be responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team, overseeing maintenance and repair operations, and collaborating with clinical and administrative departments to optimise our facilities for patient comfort and staff efficiency.
Key responsibilities- Plan, direct and coordinate all facilities and engineering operations, including maintenance, repairs, utilities management
- Develop and manage the facilities , including preventative maintenance programs and expenditure planning
- Oversee compliance with building codes, safety regulations, environmental standards and hospital accreditation requirements
- Manage emergency preparedness protocols, including backup power systems, fire safety systems and etc.
- Lead, train and supervise the facilities and engineering team, including maintenance staff and external contractors
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimise equipment downtime and ensure operational reliability
- Coordinate with clinical departments to prioritise facility needs and support clinical operations
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to facilities operations and budget adherence
- Conduct regular inspections of the hospital premises and equipment to identify areas for improvement or safety concerns
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Science or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of facilities and engineering management experience in a healthcare setting or large commercial facility
- Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and supervising technical staff
- Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety and emergency power systems
- Experience with budgeting, cost control and project management
- Experience in preventative maintenance planning and asset lifecycle management
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills
- Leadership experience with the ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Knowledge of sustainable facilities practices and energy management is preferred
- Professional certification in Facilities Management or Engineering is advantageous
