JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Paralegal Officer to support legal compliance, documentation, and regulatory requirements within the pawnshop and money services industry. The role ensures adherence to financial regulations, consumer protection laws, and internal policies governing pawnshop operations and money changing services.

This position involves both traditional paralegal functions and industry-specific responsibilities such as collateral documentation, dispute resolution, regulatory filings, and internal case handling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Litigation & Dispute Support
  • Assist in preparing documents for customer disputes, regulatory hearings, and litigation cases.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel for case preparation and proceedings.
  • Gather evidence and maintain complete legal case files.
Internal Case Management
  • Handle employee disputes, disciplinary cases, and compliance violations.
  • Document proceedings and prepare case reports.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions based on findings.
Hearings & Representation
  • Attend court hearings as company representative or support to external counsel.
  • Participate in administrative investigations and disciplinary hearings.
  • Ensure due process is observed in all proceedings.
  • Provide management updates and legal recommendations.
Audit & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of legal cases, investigations, and resolutions.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements specific to pawnshop operations.
  • Monitor recurring issues and recommend improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Legal Management, Political Science, Criminology, or related field.
  • Law units or ongoing legal studies is an advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in legal, compliance, or financial services.
  • Experience in the pawnshop, lending, or money services industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and commercial transactions.
  • Excellent documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.

WORK SETUP

Full-time, On-site

Willing to be assigned to branch locations if required.
