Junior Civil Engineer

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
2. Licensed Civil Engineer
3. At least 3-5 years of experience in design or supervision of building and infrastructure, waste management, or environmental services.
4. Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and basic project management tools
5. Knowledge of landfill construction, geotechnical concepts, or environmental engineering is an advantage
6. Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
7. Willing to be assigned full-time at the FEC Sanitary Landfill in Floridablanca, Pampanga

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning, design, and construction supervision of landfill infrastructure (cell development, roadways, drainage systems, slope protection, leachate and gas collection systems).
• Conduct field inspections and surveys to ensure quality, safety, and conformance with design and regulatory standards.
• Assist in AutoCAD drafting, as-built drawing preparation, and documentation of engineering works.
• Monitor contractor performance, material deliveries, and equipment utilization on site.

• Support daily landfill operations, including waste tipping coordination, compaction, cover application, and traffic flow management.
• Monitor and report on the status of landfill cells, including remaining capacity, elevation, slope stability, and settlement.
• Assist in planning and implementing cell sequencing, cover material utilization, and road network maintenance within the landfill and external access road.
• Coordinate with the Weighbridge, LTP, and Safety Officers to ensure smooth flow of operations.
• Ensure efficient and safe operation of heavy equipment (e.g., bulldozers, compactors, excavators, and trucks).
• Implement best practices to maximize landfill space utilization and lifespan.
• Support in environmental monitoring activities such as leachate level tracking, gas vent maintenance, and drainage performance.
• Participate in internal audits, inspections, and third-party evaluations.

• Supervise and coordinate landfill operators, drivers, and maintenance personnel.
• Conduct training programs on safety, waste handling, and operational procedures.
• Enforce workplace safety regulations, ensuring the proper use of PPE and emergency protocols.

• Ensure proper maintenance and servicing of heavy equipment to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs and procurement of parts.
• Monitor road conditions, drainage systems, and other landfill infrastructure.
