The Estimator is essential in winning profitable commercial plumbing and civil construction projects by delivering precise, competitive, and market-aligned cost estimates. This role involves preparing detailed pricing, performing digital take-offs, reviewing tender documents, sourcing supplier and subcontractor quotes, and supporting project teams from the initial tender stage through to handover.

The position plays a key role in strengthening CDPG’s competitiveness, improving win rates, safeguarding margins, and ensuring pricing accuracy and business growth. It also ensures that all tenders meet Australian Standards, NCC, BCA requirements, industry best practices, and CDPG’s risk management guidelines.

Qualifications:

Plumbing Trade Qualification (highly regarded).
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar (desirable).
Knowledge of Australian Standards for Plumbing (AS3500), NCC, and BCA requirement

Experience:

Minimum 3+ years estimating experience in commercial plumbing or construction environments.
Experience delivering estimates for medium to large commercial projects.
Demonstrated ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
Proven stakeholder coordination with builders, suppliers, subcontractors.
Proficiency with digital take-off software and builder document systems (Aconex, EstimateOne, BidContender).
Competent using Bluebeam, Excel and estimating platforms incorporating on-screen take-offs.
Ability to read mechanical, plumbing, civil and architectural drawings.
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of labour/material cost structures.
Experience maintaining supplier pricing databases and market rate currency.
