Schedule: Morning Shift

Job Description:

You will be responsible for leading and supporting the development of staff within your department, delivering high quality, clear and coordinated models that meet company guidelines and standards. You shall be responsible for updating, developing and maintaining documentation systems.
Technical staff will report to you for day-to-day resource and technical management, while project-specific direction will be provided by Australian Engineers. You will lead by example, guiding your team to deliver high-quality project outcomes that exceed client expectations.
This includes fostering strong cross-functional relationships, ensuring efficient project delivery, and promoting collaboration across departments. Your leadership will be key in maintaining a positive, high-performing team environment. You will provide clear direction, resolve conflicts, encourage open communication, and ensure alignment across teams.

A core part of your role is to motivate, mentor, and develop your team members by offering regular feedback and creating growth opportunities to support their professional advancement and the ongoing success of IGS QLD.

  • Project Delivery
  • Deliver high-quality engineering designs and documentation across a diverse range of projects that reflect IGS standards.

  • Use BIM tools efficiently, including Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Assist in producing accurate and coordinated BIM models for MEPF services using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Follow company modelling standards and project-specific BIM requirements, including BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and LOD protocols.
  • Contribute to maintaining and updating BIM content libraries as directed.
  • Support quality assurance processes by checking model accuracy and incorporating feedback from senior staff.
  • Highlight any deficiencies in resourcing or projected resourcing
  • Ensure assigned Team can perform your role adequately during any planned or unforeseen absences and share responsibilities to effectively manage the team.
  • People Management
  • Assist the General Manager and Business Services Manager to identify and recruit new team members through effective job ads, and interview processes.
  • Oversee the onboarding process to ensure smooth integration of new staff.
  • Undertake performance reviews and agree with key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the performance of direct reports.
  • Monitor technical staff attendance.
  • Notify the Technical Services Manager of any identified performance issues and assist with performance management of technical staff when required.
  • Training and Development
  • Regularly attend and actively participate in internal and external training workshops, meetings, and seminars.
  • Work closely with our National Discipline Leaders to support staff training, development and contribute to implementing new systems, processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for executing and reporting on training, resourcing, quality, and performance outcomes to the Technical Services Manager.
  • Develop and maintain professional and technical engineering skills, staying updated on industry best practices.
  • Lead and mentor staff, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture.
  • Mentor and support Team and ensure their effectiveness and readiness to step into the role in your absence.
  • Collaboration & Communication
