- Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager also leads the maintenance team and coordinates with Production, Safety, and other departments.
- Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily maintenance activities for machinery, equipment, and building facilities.
- Ensure timely and effective execution of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance plans.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of plant equipment and utilities.
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules based on equipment standards and manufacturer recommendations.
- Prepare maintenance work orders and allocate manpower, materials, and time resources.
- Plan major equipment overhauls, shutdown maintenance, and special projects.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate maintenance technicians, electricians, mechanics, and utility personnel.
- Conduct skills training and ensure the team is knowledgeable on safe maintenance practices.
- Assign tasks and ensure manpower is scheduled effectively for 24/7 operations (if applicable).
- Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate timely procurement of parts, tools, and supplies.
- Manage maintenance budget, cost control, and vendor negotiations.
- Ensure proper documentation of maintenance expenses and asset records.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with Safety Department for machine guarding, lock-out/tag-out, and safety inspections.
- Ensure all maintenance works follow company SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on equipment condition, downtime, and maintenance KPIs.
- Provide recommendations for system improvements, equipment upgrades, and process enhancements.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engr.
- At least 5 years of experience in maintenance operations, preferably in manufacturing or food processing.
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Proficient in maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., LOTO, machine safety, facility safety).
