JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities Engineering Management Officer (Electrical Engineer) supports the day-to-day operations and infrastructure of the company’s properties through hands-on work and administrative functions. This role ensures the delivery of safe, efficient, and well functioning workplace environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversee and coordinates decorative and building works in NWR properties.
- Assist management with office moves.
- Assist the relevant department/personnel in writing of health and safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
- At times may be required to plan an agenda, circulate papers, write/ distribute minutes and ensure agreed actions are completed within deadlines.
- Responsible for maintaining logs for fire, health and safety inspections, audits, checks and training are completed, including but not limited to:
- Practice drills and evacuation
- Testing of fire alarms
- Monthly building checks
- Daily opening checks
- Monthly ladder checks
- Any other duties required by the Facilities Assistant Manager / Manager
- Contact and liaise with contractors and service engineers.
- Lead on coordination of postal duties both incoming and outgoing.
- Responsible for ordering stationary as and when required processing, request and ensure input of all data and costs onto departmental spreadsheets.
- Monitor helpdesk email / telephone to ensure all enquiries and requests to the department are completed within KPIs and keep staff up to date on the enquiry / request.
- Assist Facilities Engineering Management Associates when required and provide cover during busy times, annual leave or sickness, including porter service.
- Monitor and replenish stocks of office sundries (e.g. refreshments, toiletries, paper, etc.) order when stock reaches a pre-ascertained level and replenish areas when required.
- Cover full time telephonist / receptionist duties when required.
- Ability to remain calm and deal with callers in a polite, efficient and sensitive manner. This will include people who may be angry and distressed.
- Work within health and safety guidelines and carry out general repairs and minor decorating throughout the offices, including changing any spent light bulbs.
- Become familiar with the monitoring and resetting of maintenance and equipment plant and fire alarms, and with the layout and services associated with the building.
- Assist the Facilities Manager in the security of the premises and its furnishings and equipment, including dealing with security incidents if necessary and carry out associated procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in any four-year Engineering program
- Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience in a 5-star hotel or a similar environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in PC operations and office applications, including GSuite and MS Office
