Title: Business Development Associate
Reports to: Business Development Manager and Managing Director
Location: SMS Corporate Office - Ortigas

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Business Development Associate supports the company’s growth by assisting in identifying new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and coordinating sales and partnership initiatives within the hospitality sector. The role includes coordinating and executing B2B and B2C events—from planning to implementation—to support lead generation and brand presence.

The BD Associate also assists in outreach and promotional activities, working closely with business development and revenue management teams to help expand the company’s hotel client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

As Business Development Associate, you will be in charge of assisting the Business Development Manager and Managing Director in tasks that are including, but not limited to:

  1. Business Development Support
  • Assist in identifying and researching potential hotel partners and clients
  • Support the preparation of proposals, presentations, and pitch decks
  • Coordinate meetings, site visits, and follow-ups with prospective clients
  1. Client Relationship Management
  • Maintain and update client databases and CRM systems
  • Serve as a point of contact for client inquiries and coordination
  • Ensure timely communication between internal teams and clients
  1. Market and Industry Research & Analysis
  • Assist in conducting market research on hospitality trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies
  • Support monitoring of hotel industry performance indicators (e.g., occupancy, ADR, RevPAR)
  • Compile data and insights for internal reporting and decision-making
  1. Sales & Partnership Coordination
  • Assist in the execution of sales initiatives and partnership activities
  • Coordinate with sales and revenue management teams for aligned initiatives
  • Track leads, opportunities, and assist in maintaining the sales pipeline
  1. Event Management (B2B & B2C)
  • Assist in planning and executing events such as partner workshops, client presentations, trade fairs, and consumer promotions
  • Coordinate event logistics including venue, suppliers, materials, and schedules
  • Support preparation of event materials (e.g., presentations, invitations, simple content) with project point person
  • Manage attendee invitations, confirmations, and post-event follow-ups
  • Monitor and evaluate event performance, including lead generation and ROI
  1. Administrative & Reporting
  • Prepare and submit weekly reports detailing completed tasks and upcoming priorities on business development activities and pipeline status
  • Gather, organize, and maintain documentation, contracts, client records and other corporate records
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping by maintaining and updating the CRM system with all activities and client interactions
  • Support internal coordination for project onboarding and implementation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in business development, sales, or hospitality industry preferred
  • Familiarity with hotel operations and revenue management concepts is an advantage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM and AI tools
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
