Electrical Design Engineer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

• Minimum of 5 years of design experience in an electrical power systems business
• Experience working on electrical power system design and analysis projects
• Experience coordinating with clients, sales teams, and engineering teams
• Willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings when required

• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Experience using power system analysis software such as:
• DIgSILENT PowerFactory
• ETAP
• EasyPower
• Strong computer and engineering design skills
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards including:
• IEC
• IEEE
• NEC
• NFPA
• Local electrical regulations

• Fluent in English
• Additional language skills are an advantage

Job Description

Position Summary

The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for preparing project-specific electrical designs and technical documentation for sales proposals, detailed engineering, and operational projects. The role involves conducting power system studies, preparing engineering drawings, supporting project execution, and ensuring compliance with international and local standards.

• Perform electrical power system studies including:
• Load flow analysis
• Short-circuit analysis
• Protection coordination studies
• Arc flash studies
• Voltage drop analysis
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards and regulations such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and local codes
• Prepare project shop drawings including:
• Single-line diagrams
• Electrical layout drawings
• Detailed engineering drawings using CAD software
• Develop project design documentation for sales proposals and execution packages
• Coordinate with clients’ technical teams and conduct site visits to assess project requirements
• Support the sales team by providing technical advice and engineering solutions
• Design power packages that meet project requirements while optimizing available equipment and resources
• Assist in the specification and design of specialized electrical equipment in collaboration with the engineering team
• Provide engineering support during operational project execution
• Prepare:
• Bills of materials (BOM)
• Technical documentation
• As-built drawings
• Collaborate with engineering and operational teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with company health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures
