Plant Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, modification, and implementation of electrical systems, equipment, and controls while ensuring compliance with safety, performance, and cost-effectiveness requirements.
- Perform electrical calculations, load studies, circuit analysis, power quality assessments, and system modeling to optimize plant operations and energy efficiency.
- Assist in overseeing the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of steel rolling mill machinery and related electrical equipment.
- Identify electrical and automation issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize downtime.
- Recommend design improvements and equipment modifications to enhance reliability, productivity, and operational safety.
- Analyze inspection, testing, and maintenance data to develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs for plant electrical systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, safety, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and support plant improvement projects.
- Participate in project planning, budgeting, implementation, documentation, and reporting to ensure successful project execution.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including electrical drawings, specifications, operating procedures, maintenance records, and engineering reports.
- Monitor plant electrical consumption and recommend energy-saving initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Serve as the company's liaison with government agencies, regulatory bodies, utility providers, and third-party inspectors on matters relating to plant electrical systems, permits, inspections, compliance requirements, and energy management programs.
- Coordinate with the Department of Energy (DOE), local government units, electric utility companies, and other relevant agencies regarding electrical permits, inspections, reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Support management during audits, inspections, and regulatory assessments related to electrical facilities and operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered Electrical Engineer
- At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a steel manufacturing, heavy industrial, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial power systems, electrical distribution, motors, drives, protection systems, and automation controls.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, PLC programming, and related electrical design applications.
- Familiarity with power quality analysis, preventive maintenance systems, and energy management practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of Philippine electrical codes, occupational safety regulations, and relevant industry standards.
