SAP BTP Consultant (RAP + CAP)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced SAP BTP Developer with proven expertise in both the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and the Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP). The ideal candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying innovative cloud-native solutions and extensions on the SAP Business Technology Platform to meet evolving business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement scalable and robust applications and extensions on SAP BTP using both RAP (ABAP Steampunk) and CAP (Node.js/Java).
• Utilise Core Data Services (CDS) for data modelling and service exposure in both RAP and CAP environments.
• Develop and consume OData and RESTful services for seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA and other third-party systems.
• Build modern Fiori/UI5 applications leveraging Fiori Elements and freestyle development, integrating them with backend services.
• Collaborate with functional teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and designs.
• Ensure adherence to "Clean Core" principles by developing side-by-side extensions on SAP BTP.
• Perform code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.
• Stay updated with the latest SAP BTP services, development best practices and industry trends.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and support.

Qualifications/Requirements

Profile:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Computer Science
• Minimum 5 -7 years of SAP Experience
• Hands-on S4 Hana experience mandatory
• Certified SAP Consultant preferably in BTP or other Development areas
• Proven hands-on experience in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) development.
• Strong expertise in the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), including ABAP on Cloud, CDS Views, and OData services.
• Solid experience with the Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), preferably with Node.js or Java.
• Proficiency in SAP Fiori and UI5 development, including Fiori Elements and SAP Business Application Studio.
• Deep understanding of OData and RESTful service consumption and creation
• Experience with Git-based version control systems and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of SAP BTP services such as HANA Cloud, SAP Integration Suite, and Workflow Management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
• Experience with SAP Build Work Zone and SAP Cloud Identity Authentication
• Familiarity with other BTP services (e.g., SAP Event Mesh, AI Core)
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working in agile environments.
