Test Lead Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and maintain the Enterprise Systems Test Strategy spanning SAP, CRM, and peripheral software components.
• Establish firm quality gates, entry/exit criteria, and governance frameworks to guarantee all product releases satisfy compliance and performance benchmarks.
• Conduct systematic risk assessments to identify critical business paths and prioritize team testing efforts accordingly.
• Lead the targeted testing strategy for upgrades or releases of SAP Public Cloud.

• Lead the creation of end-to-end, cross-functional test scenarios and overall test plans.
• Oversee the granular design of test cases, ensuring maximum requirement traceability via a Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM).
• Act as the primary escalation point for technical testing challenges, including data migration and complex interface testing.

• Own defect lifecycle governance, including triage, severity calibration, tracking root-cause themes, and enforcing closure discipline.
• Partner with Engineering and Product divisions on release readiness, providing data-backed quality gate recommendations and official sign-offs.
• Produce clear, timely reporting regarding test progress, pass rates, defect trends, and release risk assessments.

• Lead the team's automation direction, determining what to automate, framework selections, reliability standards, and coverage targets.
• Build and maintain automated test suites for frontend and backend systems while securing seamless integration into CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve pipeline signal quality by reducing flaky tests, stabilizing test environments, and optimizing execution times.

• Act as the primary QA liaison between Business Units, SAP Functionals, CRM/SAP Developers, and Third-Party Vendors.
• Collaborate with the SAP Basis team to ensure test environments are refreshed, synchronized, and adequately provisioned with production-like test data.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles by coaching business users and facilitating structured testing workflows.
• Support product teams with acceptance criteria formulation, UAT preparation, and production verification or monitoring readiness.
• Promote a shift-left culture, embedding QA insights early into design and development discussions.

• Mentor QA engineers through peer reviews, pairing, focused coaching sessions, and structured feedback.
• Help onboard new QA team members, define roles or ownership boundaries, and improve overall team delivery cadence.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives regarding testing processes, tools, templates, test data management, and regression strategy.
• Conduct skill-gap analyses and deliver tailored training sessions on test automation, SAP/CRM business logic, and testing best practices.
• Set clear performance goals, conduct objective reviews, and actively foster a team culture of accountability and innovation.

• Participate in daily or weekly cadences and transparently represent QA status, risks, and dependencies.
• Commit to regular upskilling and encourage collective team learning through knowledge sharing, brown bags, and playbooks.
• Share QA best practices, testing techniques, and automation patterns with the wider engineering community.
• Stay ahead of the curve regarding SAP upgrades (e.g., system updates, patches) and CRM release cycles to proactively adapt the test catalog.
• Evaluate and introduce emerging QA tools, AI-driven testing capabilities, and industry trends to optimize overall testing efficiency.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 4 to 6 years of QA and/or software development experience, with at least 1 to 2 years serving in a leadership or senior QA role.
• Testing Methodologies: Strong knowledge of manual and automated testing techniques across all levels of the test pyramid.
• Domain Expertise: Extensive experience testing Enterprise Systems and applications, with specific, demonstrable expertise in SAP CRM, B/OSS, and high-transaction systems.
• Technical Literacy: Proficient in at least one programming language and version control systems (such as Git).
• Agile Alignment: Proven experience working with Agile teams and supporting CI/CD-driven project delivery.
• Work Setup: Must be willing to work strictly On-site.

• Solid technical foundation in test design, framework automation, and CI integration.
• Strong stakeholder communication, including the specific ability to translate complex quality risks into understandable business impact.

• ISTQB (Foundation or higher) or an equivalent accredited QA certification.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, GitLab).
• Experience with test automation frameworks and approaches such as Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Keyword-Driven, and Data-Driven Testing.
• Exposure to performance and security testing concepts and associated tooling is considered a strong plus.
• Familiarity with bug tracking and test management suites (e.g., Jira, Xray/Zephyr, or similar tools).
