We are seeking a results-driven, experienced, and culturally aware General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Indian restaurants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restaurant management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering authentic Indian dining experiences while ensuring high standards of service, quality, and profitability.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management
Oversee all daily operations including kitchen, front-of-house, inventory, and staffing.
Ensure the restaurant runs efficiently and meets sales, quality, and customer satisfaction targets.
Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with traditional Indian restaurant practices.- Team Leadership
Hire, train, and manage a team of chefs, kitchen staff, and service crew.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and ensure a healthy, motivated work environment.
Foster teamwork and cultural sensitivity, especially in an Indian food service context.- Customer Service Excellence
Monitor service quality to ensure excellent guest experiences.
Handle customer feedback, complaints, and special requests professionally and promptly.- Menu and Food Quality Oversight
Collaborate with the head chef to maintain an authentic Indian menu.
Ensure food safety, hygiene, and consistency in taste and presentation.
Keep track of food trends and regional variations to refresh the menu when necessary.- Financial Management
Monitor and control costs, inventory, and waste.
Prepare and manage budgets, financial reports, and forecasts.
Analyze sales and profitability to recommend improvements.- Marketing and Promotion
Plan and execute promotions, events, and partnerships to drive traffic and brand awareness.
Work with marketing teams on social media and local advertising strategies.
Qualifications/Requirements
Education:Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not always required).
- Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or General Manager (preferably in an Indian or Asian-themed restaurant).
Familiarity with Indian cuisine, spices, dining etiquette, and regional culinary differences.- Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of restaurant software (POS systems, inventory tools).
Budgeting and cost control experience.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards.- Other Qualities:
Passion for Indian food and culture.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible schedule (including weekends and holidays).
