JOB SUMMARY

The Business Planning & Development Analyst supports the company’s strategic planning, capital budgeting, and business development activities. The role is responsible for conducting research and analysis on the external business environment, monitoring industry and economic trends, and providing data-driven insights to guide management decisions.

The position also assists in the evaluation of capital projects and the identification of potential growth opportunities.

Capital Projects Management
  1. Resource Allocation Assistance
  • Assist in analyzing and optimizing allocation of resources for capital projects
  1. Project Evaluation Support
  • Review and endorse submitted project economics; develop project economics for key projects
  • Assist in the review and prioritization of proposed capital projects, and in the phasing of capital expenditures.
  1. Capex Monitoring and Review
  • Assist in coordinating the approval process for capital projects and maintaining documentation of submissions and approvals.
  • Track progress and spending on approved capital projects across divisions, and prepare relevant reports for Management
  • Assist in post-implementation reviews of major projects to assess performance against objectives.
Business Development
  1. Planning Support
  • Assist in the preparation of the company’s short-, medium-, and long-term plans.
  • Coordinate economic briefings and strategy sessions in support of the planning process.
  • Gather and analyze macroeconomic, industry, and competitive data to support the development of planning assumptions and forecasts.
  • Identify and summarize external factors (industry trends, country and regional developments, regulatory changes) that may impact company performance.
  • Help prepare planning guidelines, assumptions, and forecasts for dissemination to divisions and subsidiaries.
  • Consolidate and review planning submissions from business units to ensure consistency with corporate assumptions and objectives.
  • Prepare budget materials, charts, and reports for presentation to Management & the Board.
  1. Monitoring and Reporting
  • Track industry demand, market trends, and competitive developments, producing periodic analytical reports.
  • Monitor macroeconomic indicators (GDP, inflation, exchange rates, energy prices) and assess their potential impact on company operations.
  1. Corporate and Investor Reporting Support
  • Provide data, analysis, and written inputs related to the business environment for regulatory filings, annual reports, and investor relations materials.
  1. Market and Opportunity Analysis
  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, customer segments, and emerging industry trends.
