Senior Ecommerce Platform Engineer

Job Summary

The successful candidate will own critical ecommerce systems end-to-end, ensuring reliable operations, accurate data, and seamless integration across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the transition from legacy ecommerce systems to a Shopify-centric architecture.
• Build, maintain, and optimize Shopify integrations using Admin API, Storefront API, and custom applications.
• Manage multiple Shopify storefronts and ensure platform scalability across brands.
• Design and implement product, inventory, and order management workflows.

• Maintain and modernize legacy backend applications, including PHP/Laravel-based systems.
• Design and develop modern backend services using Python or similar technologies.
• Build APIs and integration services connecting internal and third-party systems.
• Architect scalable solutions that improve system reliability and maintainability.

• Own ecommerce data pipelines across Shopify, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Meta platforms.
• Ensure data accuracy, reconciliation, and integrity across multiple systems.
• Manage and analyze large datasets using SQL, BigQuery, or similar technologies.
• Support reporting and business intelligence initiatives through reliable data architecture.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cross-system issues.
• Implement automation, scheduling, queue management, and operational workflows.
• Manage monitoring, deployments, uptime, and platform reliability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on performance and scalability.

• Proven experience working within the Shopify ecosystem, including APIs and custom integrations.
• Experience managing ecommerce systems across multiple brands or storefronts.
• Strong experience with inventory management, order lifecycle processes, and product data management.
• Experience building backend systems and integration services.
• Experience working with data platforms, reporting systems, and large-scale datasets.
• Experience supporting both legacy and modern technology environments.

• Experience leading migrations to Shopify-native architectures.
• Experience with event-driven systems and messaging/queue-based architectures.
• Experience supporting marketing technology ecosystems and data pipelines.
• Experience building internal tools using React or similar frontend frameworks.

• Backend Engineering & API Development (Python preferred, PHP acceptable)
