Project Engineer (Electrical Engineer)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).
• Monitor the performance and reliability of electrical equipment including motors, pumps, blowers, control panels, and switchgears.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Ensure proper operation of Motor Control Centers (MCC), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), soft starters, and electrical protection devices.

• Install, test, calibrate, and maintain motor control systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot electrical control circuits for pumps, blowers, mixers, and other process equipment.
• Coordinate programming adjustments with automation or instrumentation personnel when necessary.
• Ensure proper functioning of sensors, relays, timers, contactors, overload relays, and electrical control devices.

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment.
• Perform insulation resistance testing, thermographic inspections, and electrical measurements.
• Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and calibration reports.
• Recommend equipment upgrades and energy-saving improvements.

• Ensure compliance with the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS), and environmental regulations.
• Conduct electrical safety inspections and hazard assessments.
• Implement Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
• Participate in emergency response and equipment recovery activities.

• Prepare electrical maintenance reports and equipment performance analysis.
• Maintain updated electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and service providers during repairs and projects.
• Assist in budgeting for electrical maintenance and equipment replacement.

• Recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.
• Assist in training maintenance personnel on electrical safety and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) preferred.

• At least 2–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, industrial facilities, wastewater treatment plants, manufacturing plants, or similar industries.
• Experience in Motor Control Centers (MCC), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), PLC systems, and industrial electrical installations is an advantage.
• Experience with Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) electrical systems is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and motor controls.
• Familiarity with MCC, VFD, PLC, HMI, SCADA, transformers, generators, and switchgears.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with electrical testing instruments and diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) and electrical safety standards.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with AutoCAD or electrical design software is an advantage.

• Physically fit to perform field inspections and maintenance activities.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
• With a valid driver's license is an advantage.
