Finance and Accounting Supervisor

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate has strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and prior experience in the distribution or logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), general ledger, cash flow, and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cost tracking, and monthly cycle counts in coordination with warehouse teams.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities; monitor actual vs. budget variances and explain key drivers.
• Prepare and review financial reports for management, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies as needed.
• Implement and improve accounting processes and ERP system workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing training and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement, and inventory teams to ensure financial accuracy across the supply chain.

Preferred Knowledge:

• Experience with inventory accounting and warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with sales tax, freight cost allocation, and multi-location financial consolidation.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and cost accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
• Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights to support operational decision-making.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
