Process Associate -Credit Verification

Responsibilities:
- Review and verify credit applications for accuracy and completeness
- Analyze credit reports, financial statements, and supporting documents
- Evaluate applicants’ creditworthiness using internal scoring models and criteria
- Communicate with customers, lenders, and third parties to collect and validate information
- Identify discrepancies or red flags and escalate issues to the credit or risk team
- Document all verification steps and decisions accurately in the system
- Ensure compliance with company policies, data privacy laws, and industry regulations (e.g., FCRA)
- Collaborate with sales, underwriting, and customer service teams as needed
- Meet productivity and turnaround time standards for credit verifications
Key Deliverables:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workload.
- Handle incoming, outgoing calls, emails, web requests and chat from our clients
- The specialist must provide verified employment history, income, residency, references, and any other relevant data on credit applications.
- Providing timely and relevant information to sales teams, loan officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to facilitate the credit process and address inquiries.
- Prompt and effective communication to resolve any discrepancies or issues identified during the verification process, obtaining necessary clarifications or additional documentation.
- Maintain the highest levels of service for our end users, partners, and teammates .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in credit verification, underwriting, collections, or a similar financial services role
- Familiarity with credit bureaus and interpreting credit reports (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and credit verification systems/tools
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, & Excel)
