Staff Accountant (CPF)

Position Summary
The Staff Accountant - CPF plays a vital role in supporting the organization’s financial integrity through accurate project level accounting and reporting. This position is responsible for analyzing project financial data, preparing timely and precise financial statements, and maintaining sound accounting controls across multiple projects.The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage detailed accounting processes with accuracy and efficiency. A proactive mindset, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous process improvement are essential for success in this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform full cycle accounting tasks, including but not limited to preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for the assigned areas
- Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure that payments are processed and clear the bank
- Process and reconcile property taxes ensuring that parcels are allocated to the correct project
- Reconcile balance sheet ledgers to ensure that transactions have been accurately allocated and posted
- Ensure the correct monthly project charges (management fees and project cost invoices) are allocated to each project based on the contract documentation.
- Support with audits as needed
- Contribute to process improvements for workflow efficiency and accuracy
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Flexible to work outside of normal business hours when necessary.
- Minimum of 2+ years of accounting experience
- Associates degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, or accounting coursework preferred
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Strong data entry skills and hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software
- Proficient in MS Office
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information
