Job Summary

The Accounting Staff – Inventory is responsible for maintaining accurate manual inventory records using physical logs, inventory cards, and spreadsheets. The role ensures proper documentation, monitoring of stock movements, and reconciliation of inventory balances to support accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record all inventory transactions manually (receipts, issuances, returns, and adjustments) using inventory cards and logbooks
  • Maintain updated inventory records in Excel or manual worksheets
  • Monitor daily inventory movement and ensure completeness of supporting documents (delivery receipts, requisition slips, charge invoices)
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and spot checks
  • Reconcile physical inventory with manual records and investigate discrepancies
  • Prepare inventory summaries and reports for management and accounting purposes
  • Coordinate with warehouse and operations staff regarding stock movements
  • Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of inventory documents
  • Assist in month-end inventory valuation and reporting
  • Follow internal control procedures to prevent inventory loss, damage, or misuse
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related course
  • Experience in manual inventory recording is an advantage
  • Knowledge of basic inventory costing and accounting principles
  • Proficient in MS Excel (basic formulas and reports)
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
