Senior Quantity Surveyor (Façade/Glazing/Fenestration)

The Schantz San Diego Group Inc is looking for a highly organized and experienced Quantity Surveyor specializing in windows, doors, and curtain wall systems to support U.S.-based commercial glazing and façade projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating project drawings, specifications, and related documents in order to prepare complete and accurate material take-offs and estimates for commercial projects. This position plays a key role in supporting project bidding, cost planning, and overall commercial estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed quantity take‑offs for glass, glazing, window, door, and curtain wall systems from architectural and bid sets
• Develop accurate material breakdowns and summaries aligned with client and company standards to support estimating activities
• Review bid documents and specifications to ensure complete scope coverage and identify gaps or risks
• Analyze architectural drawings, details, and system assemblies, including fixings, anchors, extrusions, trims, and accessories
• Coordinate directly with project managers, designers, and estimators for clarifications and constructability input
• Support proposal and tender submissions, including scope narratives and clarifications
• Provide technical guidance and quality checks for junior quantity surveyors and estimators
• Maintain speed and accuracy while delivering quantity take-offs on tight turnaround timelines

Qualifications:

• BS in Civil Engineering or Architecture
• 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying or estimating within the commercial glass, glazing, window, door, or curtain wall industry
• Strong ability to read and interpret U.S. construction drawings and project specifications
• Solid understanding of façade systems, components, and assemblies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
• Proven experience using Bluebeam for quantity take-offs and estimating activities
• Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus
• Experience supporting U.S.-based projects strongly preferred
• Self‑directed, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently within a distributed team
• Clear communicator with strong coordination skills
• Willing to work night or shifting schedules aligned with U.S. business hours
