JOB SUMMARY
The Test Automation Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining automated test suites that safeguard the reliability, performance, and stability of products across the core product domains — Customer Acquisition, Marketing Engagement, Service Operations, and Data Enablement.
This role enables an automation-first quality culture by integrating continuous testing into delivery, ensuring faster, safer, and more predictable releases across web, mobile, kiosk, and backend systems. The engineer collaborates closely with Product Managers, Developers, QA Analysts, UX, CX, and IT Engineering to embed testability early and elevate the overall quality of the customer and operational experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Automation Framework & Script Development- Design and maintain reusable, modular automation frameworks covering UI, API, and system integration flows
- Develop automated test suites aligned with domain-specific business logic and customer journeys
- Ensure automation assets are maintainable, efficient, and scalable across Customer Acquisition, Marketing Engagement, Service Operations, and Data Enablement
- Implement automated tests into CI/CD pipelines in partnership with IT Engineering
- Build automated release gates to validate builds, deployments, and critical system flows
- Ensure automated testing operates reliably in pre-production and production-like environments
- Work with Product Managers to understand requirements, edge cases, and domain-specific business rules
- Partner with Developers during planning and design to embed early testability (“shift-left”)
- Collaborate with Functional Test Analysts to convert manual test scenarios into automated coverage
- Support UX/CX teams where automation intersects with customer-facing journeys
- Analyze failures from automated test runs, identify patterns, defects, and root causes
- Optimize test performance, stability, and coverage across domains
- Recommend improvements to workflows, tooling, or testing strategy to increase product reliability
- Document automation frameworks, utilities, and test approaches
- Maintain standards aligned with DPP’s release governance practices
- Ensure test documentation maps clearly to acceptance criteria, requirements, and user flows
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- 3–6 years in automation engineering, QA automation, or software engineering
- Experience building automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, or integration workflows
- Experience working with cross-functional digital squads in an agile environment
- Hands-on experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong scripting or programming capabilities
- Understanding of QA concepts: functional, regression, integration, API, smoke testing
- Familiar with CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices
- Strong defect analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to translate manual test paths into reliable automated tests
- Strong communication skills to work with technical and non-technical partners
