Marketing and Communications Senior Specialist

Job Description:

The Marketing and Communications Senior Specialist will be assisting the Associate Director for Marketing and Communications (MarComm) in managing the external and internal communications requirements of Sun Life Global Solutions (SLGS) Philippines.

The role will focus on developing and executing strategic internal and external communications initiatives, with a strong emphasis on brand strategy, employer and corporate branding. The ideal candidate will be a creative storyteller with a keen understanding of how to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences, both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Copywriting Excellence:

• Craft compelling, on-brand content for various internal and external communication channels, including newsletters, intranet articles, executive messages, company-wide announcements, and marketing materials
• Develop clear and engaging copy that translates complex business strategies and initiatives into easily digestible content for employees and external stakeholders

1. Brand Strategy and Implementation:

• Collaborate with the brand team to ensure consistent application of brand voice, tone, and messaging across all communications
• Develop and maintain brand guidelines for written communications
• Act as a brand ambassador, educating internal and external stakeholders on brand standards and best practices

1. Communications Strategy:

• Contribute to the development and execution of comprehensive internal and external communications strategies that align with overall business objectives
• Identify opportunities to enhance employee engagement and corporate brand awareness through innovative communication approaches

1. Content Planning and Management:

• Create and manage editorial calendars for various communication channels
• Coordinate with subject matter experts across the organization to gather information and develop content

1. External Communications and Public Relations:

• Support external communications efforts, including media relations and public relations initiatives
• Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts and industry influencers

1. Measurement and Analysis:

• Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communications initiatives
• Provide data-driven recommendations for improving communication strategies and tactics

1. Team Collaboration:

• Coordinate and collaborate between SLGS and external vendors; SLGS PH MarComm Team and other departments in SLGS; SLGS MarComm and other counterparts in Regional Office and/or Head Office in Canada. These collaborations will form part in fulfilling the marketing and communications requirements of SLGS.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
• 8-10 years of experience in corporate and organizational communications, public and media relations, content strategy, employer branding, and digital marketing
• Exceptional writing and editing skills
• Strong understanding of brand strategy and its application in both internal and external communications
• Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive communications strategies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with content management systems
• Excellent project management and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in employer branding initiatives
