Production & operations manager (manufacturing)

Job Description

• Assist the Production Supervisor in planning, organizing, and monitoring daily production activities.
• Supervise and guide line workers/operators to ensure adherence to production schedules and output targets.
• Monitor product quality throughout the production process and ensure compliance with company quality standards.
• Help enforce safety protocols and good manufacturing practices on the production floor.
• Identify and help resolve bottlenecks, equipment issues, or process inefficiencies on the line.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Materials/Warehouse teams to keep production running smoothly.
• Monitor manpower attendance, allocate manpower across stations, and manage shift coverage as needed.
• Prepare and submit production reports, downtime reports, and other required documentation.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of production staff.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Lean/Kaizen) on the shop floor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor or Production Manager.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering course preferred; other courses are also welcome to

• At least 1–2 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or supervisory role.
• Experience in the automotive industry is a strong advantage.
• Working knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and workplace safety practices.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) for reporting purposes.
• Willing to work on shifting schedules and extended hours as required by production needs.
• Fresh graduates with relevant on-the-job training or internship experience in manufacturing may be considered.
