Design Development Manager

The Design Development Manager acts as a key liaison among internal stakeholders, external consultants, and contractors throughout the design phase.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design development process through all project stages: concept, schematic, design development, and construction documentation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure cohesive and technically sound design solutions.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning laws, and all relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Review and validate design deliverables to ensure alignment with project goals, budgets, timelines, and client requirements.
• Conduct design reviews and value engineering to improve cost-efficiency and buildability.
• Manage design changes, ensuring minimal impact on schedules and budgets.
• Collaborate with project management, procurement, and site teams to confirm design feasibility and integration with construction activities.
• Present design concepts and progress to clients, stakeholders, and internal leadership.
• Maintain and oversee version control of all design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
• Licensed Architect.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in design and design management roles within the construction industry.
• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary design teams on medium to large-scale projects.
• Extensive knowledge of design processes and on-site implementation practices.
• Proven experience in coordinating with developers, contractors, and consultants.
• Strong technical understanding of architectural, structural, MEP, and civil systems.
• Proficient in design and project management tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, and Navisworks.
• Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strategic thinker with strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
• Detail-oriented with a strong artistic eye and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Knowledge of construction sequencing, construction methodologies, and integration of design with site constraints.
