Licensed Chemist

Main Function:

• Supervise laboratory activities to ensure compliance with SOPs, safety protocols, and government regulations, while promoting innovation and continuous improvement.
• Ensure timely renewal of the Laboratory’s License to operate each year through proper supervision and compliance with all regulatory requirements, thereby avoiding any penalties to the company.
• Train and mentor Laboratory Assistant, supporting their progression to a registered Laboratory Technician.

Job Specifics:

• Supervise and monitor the performance and development of laboratory assistants.
• Recommend appropriate chemicals solution used for laboratory analysis for oil and water samples.
• Oversee the accurate computation, encoding, and documentation of all laboratory analysis reports, ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Accountable for the accuracy and reliability of test results, ensuring they meet both internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.
• Ensure that sampling and testing are carried out according to laid down procedure
• Optimize laboratory workflow by managing test prioritization and ensuring systematic and timely execution of tasks.
• Perform other related additional assignments that may deem necessary by the superior from time to time.
• Coordinate closely with the supervisor and laboratory technicians to ensure clear communication and efficient task delegation.
• Uphold strict adherence to safety protocols, good housekeeping standards, and proper disposal procedures for laboratory waste, ensuring a safe and compliant laboratory environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be graduate of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
• Must be a Licensed Chemist (PRC), as required by law in the Philippines.
• Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry, instrumentation, and laboratory procedures.
• Possess strong analytical skills, and effective problem-solving ability
• With strong abilities in research and analysis
