The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to ensure excellent customer service, efficient staff performance, and adherence to quality and safety standards. This role acts as a liaison between management and the restaurant team, ensuring smooth service, handling customer concerns, and supporting the team in delivering a positive dining experience.

The Restaurant Supervisor assists in staff training, shift scheduling, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and compliance with health regulations.

Qualifications/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations of the dining area, kitchen coordination, and front-of-house service.
  • Ensure excellent customer service by monitoring staff performance and handling customer feedback or complaints professionally.
  • Oversee staff schedules, attendance, and performance, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
  • Assist in the training and development of new and existing staff.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, and coordinate with purchasing or kitchen staff for replenishment.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety standards according to local regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the dining area, kitchen cleanliness, and food presentation.
  • Collaborate with the restaurant manager or chef on menu updates, promotions, or special events.
  • Maintain daily sales and operations reports, including shift summaries and incident logs.
  • Help create a positive and productive work environment by motivating and guiding team members.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, or related field is an advantage.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in the food service industry, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) or equivalent

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including service, food handling, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Good time management and ability to handle fast-paced environments.
  • Proficient in using POS systems, basic office software, and restaurant management tools.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (and local language if applicable).
