Job Description

1. Perform duties under the direct supervision of the Staff Nurse on Duty.
2. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the Nurses’ Stations and hospital wards.
3. Monitor and record vital signs accurately in patient’s medical chart
4. Perform routine nursing care to patients e.g., bathing, turning of patients, feeding, etc.
5. Assist staff nurse on duty during admission.
6. Assist patient e.g., dressing, ambulation, etc.
7. Taking and recording vital signs and monitoring intake and output.
8. Assist staff nurse in providing pre and post operative care.
9. May give tube feeding in supervision of staff nurse.
10. Report immediately any inconsistency or changes in the patient’s condition to staff nurse such as dropping or increasing vital signs, low urine output or sudden change of level of consciousness.
11. Coordinate and maintain communication with patient and family with trust and respect while minimizing discomfort during daily healthcare and duties and providing comfort to patient in every way possible.
12. Preserves patient dignity and minimize discomfort while carrying out duties.
