Electrician

 I.  JOB SUMMARY:

The Electrician ensures that all electrical works are executed safely, efficiently, and with high-quality workmanship.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Electrical Installation Works

• Perform installation of electrical systems for residential, distribution, and substation projects.
• Install service entrance assemblies, circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, convenience outlets, switches, junction boxes, conduits, cable trays, and related electrical components.
• Install grounding systems, bonding systems, and kilowatt-hour (kWh) meter assemblies as required by the project.
• Assist in installation, termination, and connection of transformers, switchgear, panel boards, control panels, disconnect switches, and other electrical equipment.
• Perform proper wire termination, cable routing, splicing, pulling, and connection of electrical conductors and cables.
• Assist in installation and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical systems when required.
• Ensure all installations are executed in accordance with approved plans, technical specifications, and standard electrical practices.
• Assist in troubleshooting, correction, and rectification of electrical installation issues at site.

1. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Identify defects, faults, and abnormalities in electrical installations and equipment.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, energization, and restoration activities of electrical systems.
• Replace defective, damaged, and worn-out electrical components and materials as necessary.
• Support emergency repair works during outages, system disturbances, and electrical failures.

1. Compliance and Quality Assurance

• Ensure all electrical works comply with the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), company standards, client requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
• Conduct inspection, testing, and checking of installed electrical systems prior to energization.
• Verify proper installation and functionality of electrical devices, circuits, grounding systems, and protection systems.
• Identify and report non-conformance, defects, and unsafe conditions to the Site Engineer or Supervisor immediately.
• Ensure quality workmanship and proper completion of assigned installation and maintenance activities.

1. Site Activities and Coordination

• Coordinate daily work activities with Site Engineers, Project Supervisors, Foremen, and other team members.
• Interpret basic electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, layouts, and work instructions.
• Assist in material handling, inventory checking, issuance, and monitoring of electrical materials and supplies at site.
• Provide updates regarding work progress, issues encountered, and accomplishment status.
• Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and proper housekeeping within work areas and project sites.
• Support project schedules, completion targets, mobilization, demobilization, and other operational site requirements.

1. Safety Responsibilities

• Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, permits, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.
• Properly wear and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while performing work activities.
• Observe safe working practices during electrical installation, testing, maintenance, and related activities.
• Ensure proper handling and safe use of electrical tools, equipment, ladders, testing instruments, and power tools.
• Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and safety orientations.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions, near misses, accidents, and incidents to supervisors or management.

1. General Works

• Maintain proper care, safekeeping, and accountability of tools, equipment, and issued materials.
• Ensure all electrical materials and tools are properly secured to prevent loss, damage, or misuse.
• Assist in preparation of reports, checklists, testing records, and other site documentation as required.
• Support logistics, mobilization, and other operational and technical project requirements as directed by supervisors or management.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

1. Must possess a valid TESDA NC II Certificate in Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) or related field.
2. At least High School Graduate or Vocational Graduate.
3. With experience in residential or house wiring installation is an advantage.
4. Knowledgeable in basic electrical troubleshooting and installation practices.
5. Willing to work in provincial and remote project locations.
6. Can work under minimal supervision and within project deadlines.
7. Willing to travel and be assigned to different project sites nationwide
