Occupational Health Nurse

The OH NURSE shall receive preferred referral rights of patients under their scope of specialty, as defined by the specialty society governing her practice. These are:

• In the absence of a physician, to organize and administer a health service program integrating occupational safety, otherwise, these activities of the nurse shall be in accordance with the physician, as needed;
• Provide nursing care to injured or ill workers;
• Participate in health maintenance examination. If a physician is not available, to perform work activities which are within the scope allowed by the nursing profession, and if more extensive examinations are needed, to refer the same to a physician;
• Participate in the maintenance of occupational health and safety by giving suggestions in the improvement of working environment affecting the health and well-being of the workers;
• Maintain a reporting and records system, and, if a physician is not available, prepare and submit an annual medical report, using form DOLE/BWC/HSD/OH-47, to the employer, as required by this Standards;
• Ensure efficient primary care;
• Provide nursing care to injured or ill workers;
• Maintain regular coordination with HMO provider;
• Providing assessment/recommendation if an employee who took a sick leave can report back to work based on submitted medical certification/fit to work clearance, hiring of employee with medical condition based on pre-employment medical exam results (through CRF), separation of resigning employee based on exit medical exam results ; in the absence of a physician;
• Medicine and medical supplies monthly inventory;
• Assessment of medical condition and issuance of referral forms to hospitals;
• Participates in the programs of the company and to provide a positive company image to the public and the clients;
• To take on any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to you from time to time.

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid PRC license
• Preferably with training or certification in Occupational Safety and Health (e.g., OHNAP BOSH)
• Additional training in First Aid, and Basic Life Support (BLS) is an advantage

• With experience in occupational health, clinic nursing, or healthcare setting (preferred but not always required)
• Experience in handling medical emergencies, vital signs, and basic assessments
• Familiarity with health surveillance, wellness programs, and employee health monitoring is an advantage
