IT Asset Management Specialist
The IT Asset Management Specialist plays a crucial role in optimizing the organization's technology resources by overseeing the entire lifecycle of IT assets. This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining effective asset management processes, ensuring accurate inventory tracking, and maximizing the value of IT investments while minimizing risks and costs associated with technology assets.
Develop and maintain ITAM policies and procedures:
- Create and update operational guidelines (OGs), policies, standards, and procedures
- Focus on end-user computing (EUC) lifecycle processes
Policy compliance and monitoring:
- Ensure adherence to asset management policies
- Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks with GRC team
Asset tracking and improvement:
- Identify gaps in IT asset tracking, usage, and policy enforcement
- Recommend and implement corrective actions
- Participate in designing and improving ITAM tools, workflows, and governance controls
Procurement and contract management:
- Maintain an internal EI Procurement PR/PO tracker
- Keep EI leaders informed of PR/PO status
- Maintain EI's Legal Contract validation tracker to prevent slippage
Audit and reconciliation:
- Participate in audits and asset reconciliation processes
Continuous improvement:
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of ITAM processes and tools
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
5+ years of experience in IT asset management or a similar role
Strong knowledge of IT asset management principles, processes, and best practices
Proficiency in asset management tools and software (e.g., ServiceNow, SCCM, or similar platforms)
Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT service management concepts
Understanding of software licensing models and compliance requirements
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
