Senior IT Systems Engineer / L3 IT Administrator

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have experience in system administration, network management, and troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of both hardware and software systems.

Person profile:

• Experience with cloud-based infrastructures such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience in cybersecurity practices, vulnerability assessments, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, automation tools, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• MUST BE WILLING TO REPORT ON-SITE (MAKATI) DAILY, FROM MONDAY-FRIDAY.
• Must be available to join and start immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and software applications.
• Network Management: Manage and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Server Administration: Administer and support Windows, Linux, or other server environments; perform routine system upgrades and patch management.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
• Security Management: Manage and monitor system security, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, access control, and data encryption.
• System Monitoring: Use monitoring tools to ensure system health and performance; generate reports and proactively address potential issues.
• Documentation: Maintain documentation for system configurations, network setups, and support procedures.
• User Support & Training: Provide technical support to end-users, ensuring that IT resources are used effectively and efficiently.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to understand and support IT requirements for ongoing projects.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in IT systems administration, IT engineering, or a related role.
• Hands-on experience with servers (Windows Server, Linux/Unix) and network management.
• Knowledge of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (AWS, Azure).
• Certifications:
• IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are preferred but not required.
• Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Active Directory, and LDAP.
• Experience with backup software, remote monitoring tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with database management, web servers, and email systems.
• Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.) are a plus.

• Customer-focused with the ability to support users and address technical challenges effectively.
