Position Overview

RAN Manager is responsible for leading wireless product technology delivery and RAN engineering execution. This role focuses on team leadership, wireless project delivery, technical solution design, risk control, and customer engagement. The position ensures high-quality delivery of wireless network projects, including new site deployment, network swap projects, and network performance improvement, while acting as a key technical interface between customers and internal stakeholders.

  1. Key Responsibilities
  2. 1 Wireless Product Team Leadership and Management
The role is responsible for leading and managing the wireless product technology delivery team. This includes designing the organizational structure, allocating resources, defining roles and responsibilities, and establishing performance evaluation mechanisms.

The manager coordinates and oversees representative office engineers and outsourcing resources to ensure efficient, high-quality, and timely project delivery.

  1. 2 Wireless Product Engineering Delivery

The position takes full responsibility for the commissioning, integration, debugging, cutover, and acceptance of wireless products. It leads and supports new site deployment, network swap projects, and network expansion activities, ensuring that all engineering tasks are delivered in accordance with project schedules, technical standards, and quality requirements.

  1. 3 Technical Solution and Risk Management
The manager develops end-to-end wireless technical solutions and implementation strategies. This includes identifying technical risks, conducting risk assessments, and defining preventive and mitigation measures throughout the project lifecycle.

The role leads integration verification activities and ensures network quality assurance as well as continuous KPI performance improvement.

  1. 4 Project Coordination and Stakeholder Management

The role coordinates closely with transmission, core network, project management, and other related teams to establish effective cross-functional collaboration mechanisms. It works with senior internal stakeholders to ensure that technical delivery outcomes are aligned with overall business objectives and project goals.

  1. 5 Technical Support and Escalation Management

During the engineering and rollout phases, the manager provides second-line technical support and troubleshooting for wireless products. Complex or unresolved issues are analyzed and escalated to third-line technical support or vendor experts in accordance with established escalation procedures.

  1. 6 Knowledge Transfer and Capability Development

The position is responsible for delivering technical training and skill transfer to representative office engineers and outsourcing personnel. It organizes technical workshops, best practice sharing sessions, and experience summarization activities to continuously enhance team capability and technical maturity.

  1. 7 Customer and Operator Engagement

The manager is familiar with operator processes, standards, and network evolution strategies. The role participates in technical discussions with customer middle and senior management, supports customer relationship management, and contributes to improving overall customer satisfaction.

  1. Qualifications
  2. 1 Education
A Bachelor’s degree or above in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required.
  1. 2 Professional Experience

The candidate should have a minimum of ten years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, with a strong background in wireless technology management or RAN project delivery. Previous experience as a Wireless Technical Director, RAN Manager, or a similar role in a major telecom vendor or operator is highly preferred.

  1. 3 Technical Expertise
The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of mobile network architecture and functionality, primarily in the RAN domain, including LTE, 5G NSA, and 5G SA. Proven experience in developing comprehensive technical solutions, performing risk identification, ensuring quality assurance, conducting integration verification, and driving implementation is required.

Hands-on experience with network swap projects, new site deployment, and post-swap KPI optimization is also expected.

  1. 4 Leadership and Communication Skills

The role requires a proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented individual with strong team leadership and operational management capabilities. Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills are essential. The candidate must be able to conduct technical exchanges with senior customer management and deliver expert-level technical training.

  1. 5 Language and Other Requirements

Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required, with the ability to use English as a working language. The candidate should possess strong problem-solving skills and be able to work effectively under pressure in a project-driven environment.

  1. 6 Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Nokia wireless products and network swap projects is considered a strong advantage.
