Cost Engineer / Design Engineer

Job description:

VS Adriano and Associates is looking for a highly analytical and technically skilled Cost Estimator / Design Engineer with strong experience in detailed engineering design, particularly for roads, bridges, buildings and other related infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate must have a solid background in project costing, quantity take-offs, technical documentation, and engineering coordination, with the ability to interpret and validate detailed engineering plans and specifications.

Position Details

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), bar charts, and S-curve, PERT CPM projections based on approved plans and specifications.
• Conduct quantity take-offs for buildings, roads, bridges, and other related infrastructure works.
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs using current market data and historical references.
• Develop unit price analysis, cost forecasting, and bid evaluation reports.
• Assist in bid preparation, proposal costing, and tender submissions.

• Review and evaluate detailed engineering designs plans, and technical specifications for road, bridges, buildings and other infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with architects, project engineers, consultants, suppliers, procurement teams, and project managers.
• Validate construction methodologies, design assumptions, and estimate accuracy.
• Participate in technical evaluations, site inspections, and pre-bid meetings.
• Ensure compliance with DPWH standards, Blue Book specifications, LGU requirements, and applicable engineering regulations.
• Liaise with the client, designer and contractor all matters relative to the orderly implementation of the project.

• Perform CAD drafting, revisions, and engineering documentation updates.
• Generate technical reports and cost breakdowns aligned with design revisions.
• Organize and maintain project cost databases, technical references, and project records.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Preferably Licensed Civil Engineer.
• At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in cost estimation, infrastructure design, consultancy, or construction projects.
• Must have experience in detailed engineering design for roads and bridges.
• Strong knowledge of DPWH standards, infrastructure costing, and government procurement procedures.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and quantity take-off processes.
• Knowledge in infrastructure planning, cost analysis, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a collaborative environment.
