About the role

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reporting to support informed decision-making at all levels of the organisation. This role is essential to our operations and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our healthcare mission.

1. Recording and reconciling financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
2. Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
3. Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
4. Performing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies or irregularities
5. Processing invoices, expense claims, and reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner
6. Supporting the audit process by preparing supporting documentation and schedules
7. Assisting with payroll processing and benefits administration as required
8. Maintaining detailed records and documentation for all financial transactions
9. Identifying and reporting financial discrepancies or potential compliance issues
10. Collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient financial operations and meet reporting deadlines

1. A recognised accounting qualification such as an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to work effectively with financial data and spreadsheets
3. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
4. Excellent attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to maintain accurate financial records
5. Solid understanding of financial statement preparation and bank reconciliation processes
6. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with colleagues and stakeholders
8. Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information
9. Prior experience in a healthcare or related sector is preferred
10. Experience with payroll systems or accounts management is advantageous
