About the role
LEC STEEL MANUFACTURING CORP. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Truck Mechanic to join our team in Quezon City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of commercial vehicles, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and safety standards.As a Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and conducting repairs on heavy-duty trucks and related equipment. Your expertise will directly contribute to minimising downtime, reducing operational costs, and supporting the seamless delivery of our manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities- Diagnose mechanical problems in trucks and heavy commercial vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and tyre rotations
- Repair and replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate
- Keep accurate and detailed service records and maintenance logs for all vehicles serviced
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and fleet managers regarding vehicle status and repair recommendations
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and best practices when working with mechanical equipment
- Collaborate with team members to complete repairs efficiently and maintain a safe working environment
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required for vehicle repairs and modifications
- Proven experience as a Truck Mechanic or Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technician with a minimum of 2 years in the automotive trades industry
- Strong technical knowledge of truck engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and brake systems
- Proficiency with mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Relevant vocational qualifications or certifications in automotive mechanics or heavy vehicle servicing
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to lift and carry heavy components and work in physically demanding conditions
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical personnel
- Familiarity with fleet maintenance management systems is advantageous
- Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques is preferred
