A Glimpse Into Your New Role

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to support a high-performing litigation legal team based in Australia. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing legal documents, coordinating with clients and legal professionals, and supporting a fast-paced team of solicitors across multiple matters related to litigation, property law, insurance, and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft general correspondence, Costs Agreements, and Costs Disclosures
  • Prepare court documents, by-laws, contracts, and other legal forms
  • File documents with court registries and maintain compliance records
  • Liaise with clients, legal parties, LPI, and court representatives
  • Compile legal briefs, statements, and affidavits (electronic and hardcopy)
  • Provide dictation typing and prepare draft billing guides
  • Maintain and organize legal files and documentation databases
  • Schedule meetings and manage legal calendars
  • Open and close client files, and maintain accurate legal records
  • Provide administrative support to a team of 4+ litigation lawyers
What You’ll Bring
  • At least 2 years of proven experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in litigation or insurance law
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills to support multiple solicitors
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, solution-focused mindset
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology and document formatting standards
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in LexisNexis Affinity is an advantage
  • Able to work independently while maintaining collaboration with legal teams
