The Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting goods, documents, or packages safely and efficiently to assigned destinations. This role ensures accurate and timely deliveries while maintaining good customer service and vehicle upkeep.⸻
Key Responsibilities
- Pick up, transport, and deliver items to clients, customers, or company branches in a timely manner.
- Verify delivery instructions, addresses, and documentation before departure.
- Load, unload, and secure goods to prevent damage during transit.
- Obtain signatures or proof of delivery when required.
- Maintain delivery logs, mileage records, and fuel usage reports.
- Inspect vehicles regularly to ensure roadworthiness and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules while complying with traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries.
- Handle goods carefully, ensuring accuracy and completeness of items delivered.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license (with appropriate restrictions for vehicle type).
- Proven driving experience, preferably as a delivery or logistics driver.
- Good knowledge of local routes and navigation systems.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages as needed.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Reliable, honest, and safety-conscious.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel and outdoor work.
- May require overtime, weekend, or holiday work depending on delivery schedules.
- Exposure to traffic, weather, and varying road conditions.
