Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Supervises and monitors the organization, scheduling, and implementation of repairs and maintenance programs as directed by the Lead Supervisor for the Hospital facilities and equipment.

1. Ensures all electrical system, Power Distribution System, HVAC System, Fire Detection and Suppression System are all in Optimum and is in good working condition at all times. Sees to the implementation of preventive maintenance of the equipment.
2. Assess the performance of various electrical components, devices and engines such as Electrical Stand-by Generator Set, Water pumps and Elevators owned by the hospital and provide technical advice that helps on decision making whenever the component is in need of Corrective and Preventive Maintenance activity provided by a third-party maintenance contractor to ensure that it is safe, reliable and efficient.
3. Prepares status reports, proposal letters and documentation on various completed, ongoing and/or upcoming projects related to the continuous structural development of the hospital.

1. Prepares and schedules workload among the different workers / sections of the Facilities Management and Engineering Department (Electrical) by proper distribution in order to maximize personnel/worker’s productivity. Prepares sections’ work schedule and recommends leaves and overtime of personnel.
2. Supervises and monitors the organization, scheduling, and implementation of repairs and maintenance programs by making rounds in the hospital facilities, doing on-spot checks and requiring section chiefs to make daily and weekly reports. This is to ensure the quality of workmanship for each project
3. Recommends activities, policies, systems and procedures to attain department goals and objectives by conducting staff meetings to solve problems and to introduce changes in or new departmental policies and procedures.
4. Defines duties and responsibilities, accountabilities and reporting systems of staff. Monitors the performance of subordinates by reviewing their submitted reports and recommendations
5. Assists in the preparation of annual budget proposal, monitors the department's expenditures, makes necessary requisitions of office and/or construction supplies

1. Assesses and provides estimate of material requirements of certain projects such as area structure construction and/or room renovation on various parts of the hospital.
2. Supervises and monitors ongoing repair, construction and renovation works.
3. Shift monitoring and troubleshoots malfunctioning electrical and mechanical equipment and instruments and or related situations that may arise during the shift. Ensures to make necessary notifications to the FME Lead Supervisor.
4. Processes government documents needed by the Hospital to obtain necessary permits.
5. Performs functions that maybe assigned from time to time.

Qualifications/Requirements

Must be a graduate of BS Electrical Engineering

• Must be knowledgeable on basic computer applications
• Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have leadership skills
