Job Description
Posted on 25 April 2025Assistant Manager does the following works to support the Manager.
- Planning Functions
- 1 Assists in planning and implementing the quality policies set for the section and checks regularly if the same are strictly followed.
- 2 Prepares, updates and revises quality manuals according to the demands of time. Ensures the approval and maintenance of these procedures at the functional level.
- 3 Provides clear and concise documented work instruction to the functional units.
- 4 Reviews System Procedure for Design Engineering and implements revisions whenever necessary.
- 5 Takes responsibility for personnel management like absences, overtime, ranking, evaluation and promotion, and approval of business trips.
- 6 Determines the technical capability of company to meet customer requirements and coordinates with SWS in undertaking the same, when necessary.
- 7 Conducts preliminary studies and specifies materials, equipment, test procedures and personnel required for the proper conduct of the study.
- 8 Develops and maintains documented procedures to deal with the authorization of Design Engineering approved products.
- Organizing Functions
- 1 Prepares Work Instructions and implements the same.
- 2 Organizes and schedule sectional meetings for productivity and quality improvements.
- 3 Oversees arrangement of all technical documents in order.
- 4 Secures technical information (on time) from SWS that are necessary for design activities.
- Leading Functions
- 1 Develops and motivates personnel by setting problem-solving methods, statistical, quality control, and reliability methods towards achieving total quality.
- 2 Presides in sectional meetings and formulates relevant counter measures on problems encountered.
- 3 Sets standard conditions to prevent a particular process abnormality from recurring.
- 4 Acts as SWS extension to provide technical assistance functional teams.
- 5 Coordinates with SWS on implementation of design development and/or changes.
- 6 Handles special acceptance requests
- 7 Secures approval for any change of the aforementioned factors.
- Controlling Functions
- 1 Reports weekly/monthly on the quality performance and analysis of operation.
- 2 Approves purchases of Engineering materials
- 3 Ensures safekeeping of technical documents.
- 4 Ensures engineering equipments assigned to his section are on top working condition.
- 5 Reviews, evaluates and controls technical information documents.
- 6 Ensures the effective implementation of the quality system and its documented procedures.
- 7 Reviews and recommends approval of documents and data before they are issued for implementation or use.
- 8 Ensures that actual and potential sources of non-conformities are identified and addressed immediately.
- Corporate Functions
- 1 Attends weekly Management Committee meeting as scheduled.
- 2 Executes and promulgates Company policies, rules and regulations, Corporate Policies, and abides by the Code of Ethics established by the company.
- 3 Performs other related duties as may be seen capable and assigned with superior or management’s approval.
Qualifications/Requirements
Educational Background- BS degree in Engineering, preferably in Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- More than 15 years’ experience in organizational & operational management of Design and Engineering Organization.
- Multiple practical experiences on the project which involves;
- Actual introduction of new products into production site.
- Maturation activities of product specifications through multiple trial stages from initial development to mass-production.
- Collaboration activity with other related department, such as Quality Assurance Dept. and Process (Production) Engineering Dept.
- Multiple practical experiences to start-up new project.
- Multiple practical experiences for Development & Design of new products with 2D & 3D CAD.
- Acceptance of overseas dispatch, including year’s long assignment.
- Preferable if these working experiences are for automotive components.
- Preferable if working experiences at any Japanese companies.
- Ability to speak, read and write in Japanese
- Excellence in written and verbal communication, and with strong interpersonal skills.
- Must have knowledge in documentation and technical/report writing.
- Basic working knowledge of any 3D CAD software
