Job Summary

Responsible for phlebotomy functions: proper patient’s identification, test requests verification, proper collection, correct labelling, handling and transporting of specimen to the laboratory processing area; maintaining superior

performance with strict compliance to the safety procedures and quality standards of the company.

Job Description

Verifies patient’s information
Assess patient’s test request to ensure that there are no discrepancies, missing or duplicates in the test order.
Verifies patient’s diet restrictions including intake of drugs and prudently interviews patient’s personal and family medical history, as well as if there are any present signs and symptoms.
Reassures patients if they are nervous or distressed. 5. Clearly explains the procedure to patient.
Obtains blood specimens by performing proper venipuncture and skin puncture technique.

Job Qualification

Graduate of B.S. Medical Technology and Nursing
With at least 6 months to 1 year experience is a plus
With good blood extraction
Patient oriented and punctual
