Key Responsibilities
The 3D Environment Artist will study and interpret client briefs, specifications, and project requirements to ensure a clear understanding of the expected output before production begins. The role also requires delivering files according to agreed naming conventions, folder structures, technical requirements, and production best practices. The artist will be expected to work efficiently within budgeted effort and support the overall productivity of the project.
In addition to asset creation, the 3D Environment Artist may assist in effort estimation for new work, troubleshoot production issues, provide guidance to other artists, and conduct first-level checks of peer or junior work to ensure alignment with artistic and technical requirements.
The position requires active participation in team meetings, clear communication with leads and project managers, and timely updates on work status, risks, blockers, or delivery concerns. The artist is expected to contribute ideas, raise red flags where needed, and support project success through both individual execution and team collaboration.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience creating 3D art assets for AAA game titles or similar high-quality game production environments.
Candidates should have excellent 3D environment creation skills and strong knowledge of the game art production pipeline. A high level of proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, Photoshop, and ZBrush is required.
Hands-on experience with tools such as Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and Blender is highly valuable. Strong knowledge of real-time shaders and game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity is also important.
