Responsibilities:
- Receive, review and organise construction tenders
- Check all needed information has been received
- Review and analyse construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to create accurate and detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, and equipment for a variety of construction projects.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and value engineering exercises to recommend cost-saving strategies without compromising the quality or scope of the project.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure all aspects of the project are accurately considered in the estimates.
- Bid Management: Prepare and submit detailed proposals and bids for potential projects, ensuring all required documentation is complete and submitted on time.
- Database Maintenance: Maintain and update estimating databases and records, ensuring cost data remains current and accessible for future projects.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks related to cost, timing, and scope, and provide recommendations to mitigate these risks.
- Project Tracking: Monitor project budgets and timelines to ensure that estimated costs are adhered to during construction, making adjustments as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, construction materials, and best practices to enhance the accuracy of estimates and overall efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Ideally a minimum of 3 years of experience as a construction estimator, preferably in commercial or residential construction.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in estimating software (Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, cost analysis, building codes, and industry standards.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to identify and assess all aspects of a project to create accurate, comprehensive estimates.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively present estimates and proposals to clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management, multitasking, and project coordination abilities to meet deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and propose solutions to challenges related to cost, scope, and scheduling.
Work Arrangements:
- Work Setup: On-site
- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 12:30 AM UK time fixed start time, should complete nine (9) hours work
