Research and Design Engineer (RD Engineer)

Reports To : Supervisor/Department Manager

Job Summary

In charge for new product and product transfer BOM costing, sample making, and creating all the required document of the new product.

1. New product BOM costing and materials evaluation.
2. Searching for the right materials for sample build.
3. Sample materials requisition and verification.
4. Lead sample build operator in making samples and provide/share technical knowledge.
5. Create approval sheet, PFMEA, PPEP, production control plan and other new product related documents.
6. Coordinate with QA/QC about quality issues and on to make corrective and preventive action.
7. Coordinate with PE regarding the needs of jig, tooling and machine.
8. Consults all issues on their immediate superior and department manager.
9. Conduct new product meeting for new product introduction with all concerned departments.
10. Prepares all necessary documents and pictures for SOP and SOI preparation of PE.
11. Assist PE and production during pilot run for process teaching.
12. Support productions for any design related issues, material cost down analysis and depletion of aged RM.
13. Train/re-train sample build operators.
