Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Manager to lead inventory governance and control across stores, commissaries, and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining compliance with inventory processes, and strengthening internal controls through effective monitoring of inventory movements, physical counts, reconciliation, and SAP transaction management.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in inventory control within the FMCG, food manufacturing, restaurant, retail, or warehouse/3PL industry, with proven experience in inventory analysis, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee inventory control processes across warehouses, commissaries, and retail/store operations to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity.
- Monitor all inventory transactions, including receiving, transfers, production issuances, adjustments, returns, and disposals, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure timely and accurate inventory postings in SAP ERP and maintain system data integrity.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, annual, and cycle count activities, ensuring compliance with inventory count procedures and documentation standards.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, stock variances, negative inventory balances, and transaction errors, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze inventory shrinkage, spoilage, wastage, and operational losses, providing recommendations to minimize risks and improve inventory performance.
- Ensure compliance with inventory handling standards, including FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) practices.
- Prepare inventory variance reports, reconciliation reports, and management analyses to support operational and financial decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Warehouse, Commissary, Finance, Procurement, and IT teams to resolve inventory-related issues and improve inventory processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including inventory automation, system enhancements, and process standardization.
- Conduct regular store, warehouse, and commissary visits to evaluate inventory compliance, reinforce operational controls, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring complete and accurate inventory documentation and compliance with company policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in inventory control, inventory management, warehouse operations, supply chain, finance operations, or inventory audit.
- Proven experience in the FMCG, food manufacturing, restaurant, retail, distribution, warehouse, or 3PL industry is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience using SAP ERP (SAP Business One experience is an advantage) or other enterprise inventory management systems.
- Strong understanding of inventory reconciliation, inventory valuation, stock movement controls, variance analysis, and inventory governance.
- Experience managing physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement process improvements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working cross-functionally across Operations, Finance, Warehouse, Procurement, and IT teams.
- Willing to travel to stores, warehouses, and commissary locations as needed.
